What type of time management systems do you offer?
PayFWDs offers a variety of entry-level, through enterprise-level systems. Our data collection devices consist of badge readers, biometric hand readers, pc and web-based readers, and many more. Please visit our time & labor management section for more information.
How does your time & labor management system interface with payroll?
Our systems are designed to integrate with our payroll processing software, as well as other autonomous systems. A number of time import specification have been written, as well as general ledger interfaces.
Can your time & labor management systems track job costing?
PayFWDs offers very robust job-costing systems as a module in our enterprise-level time & labor management system. However, we also offer labor distribution, which is what many companies mean when they say job-costing.
What is the set up fee for the Tax Credit Service?
There is no fee unless there is a tax credit earned.
If there is an earned tax credit, what is the fee?
25% of the Fed credit and 33% of the State.
Why is the state credit % higher?
State credits require more work and some may be retroactive.
What is the process to get signed up for the Tax Credit Service?
The contract and POA must be completed, signed and original returned to PayFWDs. PayFWDs will complete the forms and send to TaxBreak. TaxBreak will set up the client on the website. TaxBreak will then call the client and schedule training.

We believe in pricing integrity. We offer a very competitive rate to begin with and maintain that value for a long term relationship. Often, our competitors will offer an “initial” low rate to gain your business, only to raise those fees significantly over a period of time. Thus, by comparison, there is no real savings in those offers.

What is software as a service (SaaS)?
Software-as-a-service or SaaS is a subscription based software usage offering which provides you popular software applications for a usage fees instead of having to buy and install licenses. You can scale up your usage of the system based on number of modules, features, and number of end users as you go along. You only pay for what you use and have the flexibility of upscaling / downscaling at any time. Usually SaaS software subscriptions are provided on a monthly fee.
What program needs to be installed on my computer?
Absolutely none, except for the Internet Explorer browser (IE ver 6.0 or above). You need to have javascript enabled.
How many people can use CATALYST at one time?
There is no limit to how many users can use the system – we encourage you to extend the application throughout your company. As you grow, we offer different levels of CATALYST including our mid-market version.
How secure is my data with CATALYST?
Your data is protected at the network level as well as physically. The data resides behind a firewall. The database is accessible only to PayFWDs for system maintenance activities. Secure backups are kept on different media and offsite backups are kept at regular intervals. Your data is housed in a Tier II data center with SAS 70 certification.
How is CATALYST different from the desktop payroll application I am currently using?
CATALYST is a web-based application. Unlike your desktop application it works on the web browser and is as accessible over the Internet. Unlike normal payroll applications CATALYST is fully inclusive and is not restricted to HR administrators, but also to employees. The extensive employee self-service and manager self-service options make common day to day tasks simple and accessible.
We are using the HRMS module of another system. Can CATALYST work with this system?
CATALYST provides the ability to tightly integrate with the HRMS and employee data from ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle Apps, MS Dynamics and Navision. We understand the underlying architecture of these ERP system and can integrate your employee database and assignments without the additional burden of manually updating this information
What happens if we decide to discontinue your services?
A subscription service can be stopped at any time with one month notice. You would be provided all your data in excel format which would be downloadable over the Internet by you only. Once the services are formally discontinued, we permanently delete all the data from our servers and within 3 months from all backup data.
How do you provide training?
Training for CATALYST customers is delivered through web based conference. We conduct the remote hands training with audio conference and web meeting to provide you an experience that’s as effective as a face to face training. Training is provided on the complete system setup at your convenience.
